WHAT MAKES A RUDD SCHOLAR?
Driven to succeed.
Our committee selects students not based on what they lack, but what they possess in terms of hard work, grit, determination, and character.
That is why we aren’t looking for the brightest or busiest. We are searching for students who persevere. The ones who, though they get knocked down, get right back up. Those who will strive harder than everyone else and continue to meet their challenges head on. Potential scholars possess traits like fortitude, tenacity, ambition, and resolve. We find the ones who possess those traits in spades.
FROM OUR SCHOLARS
The experiences that Rudd has opened up for me throughout my college years have made an immense impact on my life… to do things that I never would’ve been able to before.”
-Trey Young, Rudd Scholar, Class of 2021
