Emporia State University has been chosen by the Rudd Foundation for a new scholarship opportunity.
Pete Najera, president of the foundation, visited the ESU campus Wednesday morning to hold a press conference and share the news.
The Rudd Scholarship is a Kansas program for Kansas residents and gives preference to first-generation and underrepresented students.
“We believe in the Midwestern values of humility, hard work and integrity that make our state and its people great,” Najera said. “We want to help the brightest Kansas minds stay in Kansas and build new businesses, teach in our schools, lead in our communities and achieve excellence in all that they do right here in Kansas.”
